Linus Burr Smith–The Last Lecture Special DVD Edition

Who was this charismatic, gracious, respectful architect, artist, author, administrator, connector, historian, lecturer, persuader, philosopher, showman, soldier, taskmaster, teacher, and traveler who influenced so many alumni of the UNL College of Architecture in the 20th century? The answer is Linus Burr Smith, Chairman of the Department of Architecture University of Nebraska 1934-1964.

Proceeds from the sale of this DVD will provide scholarships for high school students who are current applicants to the University Of Nebraska College Of Architecture.





Nebraska’s Capitol Masterpiece

It is a Capitol like no other … a masterpiece of art and architecture, and the spirit of everything in Nebraska.

Shot in glorious high-definition, “Nebraska’s Capitol Masterpiece” is an NET television special exploring the enduring nature of Nebraska’s State Capitol building – from its visionary design to its being a symbol of Nebraska’s people, places and ideals.

The lifestyle and culture of Nebraska are reflected in the art and design of the Capitol and “Nebraska’s Capitol Masterpiece” introduces viewers to how the Capitol was envisioned by its builders and designers. The program also looks at the inspirations behind the building’s architecture bas-relief works and sage inscriptions.

Projected broadcast for “Nebraska’s Capitol Masterpiece” on NET television is Summer/Fall 2013.

AFN and AIA Lincoln 2010 Architects’ Home Tour

A note of congratulations to all that were involved with the AFN and AIA Lincoln 2010 Architects’ Home Tour – it was an amazing success! The collaborative nature between the two organizations was exciting to watch develop and prosper.

The event had an incredibly media campaign that successfully showcased architect’s abilities and talents that drew approximately 500 people to the homes.
